This feature may not be used by everyone but it’s become a popular trend for many. I’ve added the ability to enable or disable the social bookmarking bar that shows up just above the footer with a nice row of icons for a pre-determined set of social networks. If you want something that is not there, you will have to create it and then add it to the template files, so some coding will be required for this as it involves php, html, and css.

The template parameters is where you want to go for this and choose if you want to enable or disable the social bookmarking bar:

This is separate from the Social Bookmarking bar and is located on the main menu bar:

You can enable or disable this icon as well.

However, if you enable it, you will need to apply your twitter username to it by adding this to the Twitter Link field you see in the screenshot previously shown above.

Social Bookmark Icons

Although the screenshot above does not show the full list, there are a total of 9 network icons available which you can enable or disable each one that you want or don’t want on the bar:

  1. Twitter
  2. Digg
  3. Technorati
  4. Delicious
  5. MySpace
  6. FaceBook
  7. RSS
  8. Google
  9. Reddit

Enable or Disable each one and add their appropriate links to the link field, then click SAVE on your parameters. If you have them all enabled, you will see this:

Each one has a rollover special effect, going from grey to full colour.
