This template is a bit unique in a sense it’s designed to use the actual text title of the site using code in the template that collects the title and automatically loads it into the top header of your pages. The same goes for your site’s description caption (often called a slogan).

Title Setup

  1. Login to your admin
  2. Top main menu of your admin area, go to Site >> Global Configuration >> and then choose the “site” tab
  3. Type in your Site Name
  4. Click Save and then look at the front of your site to see your title show up.

Logo Setup

I know there will be some people who will want to use a logo instead of a text title. This is your option but this template was not developed to use a logo. However, this capability is there for you – to an extent – so you will need to pay attention to this carefully as you will be required to do a little bit of html work.

In the template’s index.php file, you will see this code:

<div id="title">
<h1><?php echo $mainframe->getCfg('sitename'); ?>
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="logo" style="none" /></h1>
</div>

The part that is dynamically loading the title of your Joomla site is in the php code part in red. If you don’t think you will ever need this, you can remove it, otherwise you will want to “comment” this out by adding two forward slashes // right after the first php part with one space before and after…it should then look like this:

<?php // echo $mainframe->getCfg('sitename'); ?>

Now you are ready to add your logo because commenting out that bit of php code will render it inactive. Quick note on the logo image…don’t make it too big but depending on your size, you may need to adjust css styles for the logo container. The styles for this container can be found around line 120 in the template’s styles.css file.

  1. Login to your admin
  2. Go to Extensions >> Module Manager >> click NEW and choose the Custom HTML module type
  3. Title your module, Show Title = No, assign to “all” for menu assignment
  4. In the editor, insert your logo image either from your media manager library or by uploading your logo from this point.
  5. Click SAVE and view the front of your site to see it

Caption Setup

  1. Login to your admin
  2. Go to Extensions >> Module Manager >> click NEW and choose the Custom HTML module type
  3. Title your module, publish it to the “caption” module position, assign it to all menu items, then write your Caption (Don’t write one too long as there is only so much space available).
  4. Click SAVE and then look at your website header area next to your site title
